Business Area Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (BA SMR) is now looking for a Financial Controller to join their Global team, Financial Control in our mission to continuously deliver an excellent service while supporting our complete Business Area. This might be an opportunity for you that already have a position as Financial Controller in a smaller cooperation with an understanding of IFRS and group accounting but have an interest of joining a bigger global business? Or you might be an auditor that have the theoretical skills and with a will to go operational. Nevertheless, you will play a central role in the business area finance team and be part of developing the business area finance function.  This is a global role with colleagues placed all around the world. BA SMR have their head quarter at the premises of World Trade Center in the center of Stockholm.

Your main areas of responsibility as Financial Controller

  • Takes part in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing in line with Group and BA timetable
  • Populate the quarterly forecast with certain BA wide cost/income relating to Common costs, Service fees, Transfer prices and Royalties.
  • You manage the budget and forecast process for our management functions and participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closings which we perform in close collaboration with our sister department BA Business Control, divisions, and Group functions. Common cost management and monthly follow up of Common cost budget vs Actuals per Cost Center
  • Responsible for Global roles policy and maintain and update SMR financial policies on intranet to reflect changes in IFRS and Sandvik principles and procedures.

 Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role you have a recognized university degree or similar in a relevant field and have at least 5-6 years of relevant work experience. Your background might be from auditing, but a requirement is that you are knowledgeable in IFRS, primarily IFRS 15, 16, and 9 and understand group accounting. Knowledge regarding policies is an advantage as this is part of the role. To be successful, you need to have worked with or be familiar with one of the major consolidation systems and a larger business system. You’re well acquainted with SAP, Excel and PowerBI while experience from major consolidation systems, like OneStream or BPC is an advantage for this position. English in speech and writing is a requirement and Swedish is advantageous.

You are self-driven, patient and possess an analytical ability where you can see the big picture but also get the details right. You have a high level of motivation and taking responsibility and completing tasks with good quality are natural for you.
